EldaJane “Jan” Boettcher, 85, of Janesville, WI passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. She was born January 28, 1926 in Rhinelander, WI, the daughter of Frank W. and Hazel Vanessa ( Strawn) Delton. She graduated on May 28, 1942 from the Arcadia, WI high school and attended college for one semester on a scholarship. Jan married Lawrence Robert Boettcher August 20, 1949. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2000. She was a former member of Cargill United Methodist Church and a volunteer with the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary having worked in the gift shop and delivering Meals -On-Wheels. Jan was a member of TOPS for many years. She also enjoyed playing in euchre tournaments at the Gathering Place in Milton, at the bowling alley in Fort Atkinson, and at gatherings with family and friends. She was a classic movie buff and could tell you the names of any of the actors in the old movies. Most of all, she treasured her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will always remember her for her generous and loving spirit.

Surviving are one daughter, Linda (Phil) Yeadon; three sons, David (Sue Ellen) Boettcher, Steven (Susan) Boettcher, Lance (Mary) Boettcher; grandchildren, Laurie Ponder, Jennifer Bieneman, Daniel (Chris) Ponder, Jay (Deanna) Boettcher, Andrew (Jennifer) Yeadon, , LeAnne (Mike) Holley, April (Kevin) Brown, Janna (Adam) Erickson, Natalie Boettcher, Kathryn (Myles) Mason, William (Michelle) Boettcher, Nickolas Boettcher, Stephanie Boettcher, Bryan Boettcher, Sarah Boettcher, 20 great-grandchildren and three “2011 models” on the way. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra L. Ponder, two sisters, Vida M. Delton and Frances L. Delton, as well as her parents.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Pastor Jason Benjestorf of Janesville Wesleyan Church will officiate. Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday from Noon until 2 p.m. at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home. www.henkeclarson.com.
